Our Surprise Saturday Morning:
Saturday morning I was sitting finishing up my devotions,
when Ruth pulled up in her van 9:45. We saw her as she pulled up through our window.
She came in and said to me, oh you're not dressed yet. How long would it take you to get dressed? I said 15 minutes, she said make it 5. So I hurried around and got ready. Jim and I got in the van and there were the rest of them, Becky and the boys.
Not knowing what we are doing.
We were driving down the road and Ruth said, Ethan has a clue where we are going and he doesn't even know it. So I asked Ethan what he had on his shirt, he was way in the back and I in the passengers seat in the front. He said a rocket and airplane so that told me where we were going.

Yes, we went to the Kennedy Space Center.
Not knowing what we were to do, Ruth had the schedule for everything.
So we just followed her.

We came across these Astronauts. Evan, Ethan, and Easton.
Ruth with the boys, at the backside of and aircraft. We went in and seen a IMAX with 3-D glasses it was so interesting. It was air crafts up in outer space the crew in and out of the spacecrafts. They showed how they moved around in one, how they showered, how they sleep, how they ate. Some of the things that they would work with they would show how maybe it would slip out of their hand and also when they would eat they might toss it in the air and catch it with their mouth, but sometimes they would miss it I think on purpose, it would come out at us and it looked like you could catch it in your hands to eat it.

They also show how one of the Rockets would take off, they tell how far you had to be away from the Rocket when the Rocket was to go off. When it went off it kind of spit things like gravel or anything loose. Then it looked like it was spitting out at us. When it first did it I ducked, I thought it was going to hit me.

We then road a shuttle to see more. The pictures are not in order.

This is a couple of pictures we were riding in the shuttle to another part of the Space Center. This is Evan sitting behind with grandpa.

Evan was wanting a picture of us so I tried to get one with him sitting behind me, he leaned forward.
While we were on the bus, the driver gave us some info about the different places around, what they were and how far things were from each other. This picture we were somewhat a distance away and it was as close as we could get to it, so I zoomed in as far as I could to get the picture of where the Rockets take off at.

A simulation of the area of where all go to watch take offs.

One of the Rockets, the length and end.
The boys posing at the side of one of the air crafts.
We stopped for lunch, Mommy bought a space rocket to drink out of for the boys to share.

Most of them eating their lunch.
While we were eating.
Mommy and Evan.

Grandma and Easton, after he had pushed me away not wanting his picture taken.
He then said I want one. So here it is. Thank you Easton; Some shots taken as we were on the shuttle below.

Arriving back on the shuttle.
Just pictures we took while walking around.

The entrance to a play area where everything is made like aircraft type things. Becky and I walked away from the area to get some pictures, while grandpa and mommy stayed in the shade.
More random pictures while walking.

Another view of the Play area for the children from a distance.

Ruth & boys

Ethan found this to pose in.
Ruth and the boys with a live astronaut.

Taking a ice cream and water break before heading home.

On our way home, we stopped at the Patrick Air Force Military base, to show grandma and grandpa where they stayed in a tent and played. The picture of Jim above is on the water on base. The pictures below are all taken there.

While we were there we were able to see the sunset. I was able to catch a few poses of it. This is one of them.
As the sun sets we are saying good night at the end of our day,
We so enjoyed ourselves so much. It was such a wonderful surprise.
Thank you Ruth for allowing us to be part of your Saturday at the
Kennedy Space Center.

"GO FOR THE GOLD"
Yes, Go for the Gold was the theme for our VBS this year.
It was a lot of fun watching the children learn so much in such a short time.
I believe the highest attendence was 239, tonight the last night they had 222.

They had so many Bible Stories referring to racing and running for the gold.
Some of the stories they had skits with the stories and flannel graph up on the screen. It was so neat how they had it all put together. Bro. & Sis. Gorduke did a lot of the story telling and scripture. Mrs. Deckard, ( the boys Kindergarten teacher) did a story that continued every night. It still isn't done. Sunday Morning she will finish the story. Then Sonja Vernon did a Vantrilaquist name Willie, the boys and girls really enjoyed Willie. They also had Bro. Churchill do a "Science" time. It was really interesting with what he would show the boys and girls with different things about science yet it would have to do with what they were trying to help the boys and girls understand things about God. Thank you to all.

These pictures are of the platform for the setting of VBS.

They had taken offerings and the boys seem to be running away with all the medals.
But tonight the girls won it. The boys had around $46.00 and the girls had $115.00. So I guess that means that the girls won it tonight.
When we ended the program the boys won it over all.
They had 9 medals on their chart. The Girls had 5.

This is where the boys registered and said their Memory Work. I was part of that in helping.
I sat in the chair between the two ladies you see here.
Sister Faith Tofte on the left, and Sister Joyce Olson on the right. The far right is Sister Going.

Every night the adults sitting with the children had medals like Ethan is wearing in the picture here. They would take a medal and put on a child they felt that was being quiet. They called it the quiet seat. There were of course several of them. After the program was over they had to take their medal and hand it in for a prize.

Ethan recieved one tonight, he also got one the first night of VBS.

Evan recieved one the first night also.

Then Easton recieved one the second and third night. I will have to be honest I was so proud of him the first night, he was so good. Then when he got it the second time we were all amazed. You really have to know him to know. But then on the other hand, whewww tonight was a different story. I think the nap he had in the afternoon helped him to be raring to go.

Well, we have to say good bye to another yet GREAT VBS.
I just want to say for all those who put it together and worked so hard to help boys and girls know about Jesus, you did a beautiful job. The decorating was just perfect and a wonderful job. Thank you.

I want to say a BIG Thank You, for all you do for the boys and girls. Boys and Girls have always been my calling and since I haven't been able to work with them like I once did I really appreciate those who are able.
Then those who Volunteered and helped with the children during the Program each night thank you so much. I know how much it means to see people who are willing to put aside their time to help the children. Thank You!
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you do again real soon.

Another Birthday, Came and Went!
Our second grandson had a birthday yesterday!
Yea, for
Evan Noel Jackson!
His theme was Wall-E
the new movie that just came out.
Because of that we sure had a hard time finding things to decorate with.

Here is the cake we purchase it decorated except the Wall-E things and the 6.
Becky added those to the cake. Nice job.

Here is Evan kind of bashful

Would you believe after we got solid colored plates cups and napkins, the last

place we had to stop was at Publix for the balloons and a couple of food items.

There as we were walking towards the registers were napkins, plates and cups with Wall-E on them. How cool is that. Thank you Lord, for supplying them for us.

Here the birthday boy is so excited they got him moving.
Evan loves to read and so I thought I would get him something that will help him to learn more.

Mommy asked the neighbor girls over to have cake and ice cream with us. The one on the left is Katy who is in Ethan's class at school, and the one on the right is Janessa she is in Evan's class.

Here is Evan along with Ethan, doing their 20 minutes of reading for the Library Program that they have been

in all summer, they just finished this week. They were able to get treasurers out a treasure box every so many days, and got a brand new scolastic book for every so many days. Great job boys. They then recieved a kite for the finished product. Good Job and keep up the good work boys.
I know that I just recently posted this picture, but for those that maybe haven't seen it Mommy found a guitar at a garage sale for the boys for their lessons during school this next school season. Evan do good and you will go far with it.

The next few pictures again I apologize for posting something that I just recently posted.

The picture above is of Evan posing at the Science Museum that Aunt Becky, and Mommy took them too, a couple of weeks ago. During the 4 of July week.

The next couple of pictures is Evan making his dog in a jacket.

Evan posing
I believe this picture was taken on Father's day with their Grandpa Jackson.

I love this picture, it reminds me of his Grandpa Gerard reading his news paper,
and drinking his coffee.

Getting ready to leave for Spring Break.

When they went on their spring break, they stopped at a friend of Mommy's and this is her oldest daughter. Megan Weatherald. Don't they look cute together?
This was taken the Sunday at Mommy's friends with Grandpa Gerard.
Having fun with fun stuff that he brought along for the trip.

They stopped at the Air Force Museum in Dover, Delaware.

Evan trying to pose
This was taken at one of their Motels they stayed at.

The trip for Spring Break was to go to the Statue of Liberty.
As you can see they made it. Here is Evan out across the waters from it.
Mommy with Evan.
At one of the stops they made on their trip they got to do a lot of different things.
Here is Evan driving the reins of a Amish buggy. Good job Ev.

Evan just posing.
This was taken at another friend of Mommy in Dover, Delaware. Doesn't he look like he is enjoying it?

Just having fun. Cute Ev!

An Easter egg that Evan made in school.

We had our Easter Dinner at the beach, here is grandpa with Evan and his brothers.
Evan was at Grandpa and Grandma's house and built and robot. Good job Evan.
I am sorry I wasn't able to get any younger pictures of Evan, but I guess it is a good thing I didn't or I would have really board you with pictures.
Thanks for stopping by and keep blogging.
Hope you had a
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
EVAN!
Grandpa and Grandma Love You Very Much!
And Jesus Does Too!
