Memorial Sunday" Thank You"! 2007

I do want to say "Thank You" to those of you that have served or are serving our Country, a "BIG THANK YOU"!

Our Sunday morning service was a beautiful service. We of course sang our patriotic songs. We had a beautiful poem read by our soldier of the cross, Sister Morgen - "Memory".

Our Pastor, Brother James Durr, read a few quotes from General Douglous Mac Arthur.

They reconnized our Veterans by having them come forward, having everyone come forward and shake thier hands to "Thank Them" for serving. "Thank You" to those of you have served. May God Bless each one who has served.

We had a special number in song, by Brent and Janice Metz.

Our Pastor, Brother Durr, Before his message, read the scripture:

11 Timothy 4:1-11, he brought out verse 7,

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith".

Beautiful message, Brother Durr. Thank You!

I was able to help with the service, by decorating. And also doing a bulletin board. The poem on the board goes like this:

In Memory

One gift, above all others,

God gives to us to treasure.

One that knows no time, no peace,

and gold cannot measure.

The precious, poignant tender gift,

Of memory, that will keep

Our dear ones ever in our hearts.

Although God gives them sleep,

It brings back long remembered,

a song, a word, a smile.

And the world's a better place because

We had them for awhile.

"In the Awe of God!"

Have you ever taken the time to stop and look around you?
If you haven't you need too!
I so many times look at what my God has done.
And think "It is the Awe of God"

Just take the time and look at God's beauty.

we have the privaledge of watching the sun go down

right from our living room, sitting in our love seat.

It is so awesome at times seeing the beauty that God has

created.

"God is an Awesome God!"

Pictures of our Church

I was asked to take some pictures of our church
for they were wanting to share with someone
what our church looked like.
So here is a couple pictures.

The sun was giving me a hard time to take these pictures,

so the angles were not the greatest.

But here is the information:

If you would like to visit us sometime.

We would love to have you!

"Our Church" inside

This is a view of the inside of our church

I was asked to make a floral arrangement for our church.

And this is the out come of that request.

"The Ladies Brunch"

Our Pastors wife, Sister Chelli Durr, wanted to do something for the Ladies of the Church, so she decided to plan and put together a "Brunch"
It was beautifully put together. The food was great, Sis. Durr made everything her self and she made it ahead of time so she could freeze it and then all she had to do is heat it up. We have one smart Pastor's wife. The food was great, delicious. Many wonderful comments. She gave out some really neat door prizes too! My Mother was one of the two that recieved a door prize. It was a wonderful Fellowship time.
After the "Brunch" my Mother and I went to Sparta to run some errans, then came back to town, and Mom and I went to Hobby Lobby, spent some time in there. We then came back to our "Wild Life" abode.
Visited while waiting for Becky, and Jim and Dad, as they had met at Ruth's storage to meet friends, Larry Garn, Bro. Durr, and two of his kids, Chip and Britney, to help Bro. Bob Truesdale load his truck that is going to take the kids stuff down to them in Stuart, Florida. Thank you so much Bro. Truesdale, we so appreciate it very much.
Mom and Dad stayed and had supper with us we had a good time while together. I was glad my Mom and I were able to have that time together, before I leave for Florida on Thursday!

I Got Some Beautiful Pictures!

This is my sister in law, Gena and her two sons, it was so nice of her to send me these pictures. They were taken at Matt's place. We don't get to see each other like I would like too, but to be able to connect as we can now I think is great. Thank You! Gena, they are beautiful pictures. I was so thrilled when I recieved them.

My Sister and Brother!

This is a picture of my brother, Wayne and sister, Susie, I recieved tonight from my sister in law, Gena. I so want to thank her for them. For I so am glad we can keep connected, even though we don't see each other as we maybe would like. Thank you so much for the pictures Gena!

Sarah was Home for the Week End!

This week end, Sarah came home.
While she is home we try to do something
together.
This week end was no different.
Saturday we decided to go out for lunch.
We stopped at a fast food and
Took it to John Ball Park Zoo!

Sarah and Becky,
Finishing lunch!
After we ate lunch, we were able to
walk through a Arts and Craft Show
that happened to be right there in the Park.
I always see things that are so neat at
Arts and Crafts,
that was fun.

As we were leaving the park we seen
these goslings with the geese
lined up in the water.
By the time we were able to get to them
they were on the bank of the pond.
We then went shopping for awhile then
Sarah took us Minature Golfing.
We enjoyed that Sarah,
Thank You!

The picture of Sarah at the top of this page,
was taken after church Sunday,
Before she left for home.

This is Monday!!!

Monday-May 21
Oh! Today slow going,
just like a Monday, I guess.
It seems like it just went so hum drum.
Becky was home today,
thought I would be more up beat then I was,
because she was home.
But not today.
Sorry Becky nothing against you.
Love to be around people that is my real thing.
When we have good days, we have good days,
but when we have bad days they are bad days.
Jim didn't leave for work until after 11:00 AM.
So maybe it's because
I don't like doing a whole lot when they are here.
that is why it seemed so hum drum. Is that Mondays?
When I get so hum drum I call upon God
He will help me in the way no one else can,
I am so glad I have Him to turn too.
He covers me with His Love, and caring hand.
Thank You Heavenly Father for being that one
to lift me up and care for me.

There is a scripture that I always think of :

"Let not your heart be troubled
Ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Fathers house are many mansions.
If it were not so I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you,
And if I go to prepare a place for you,
I will come again and receive you onto myself.
That where I am, there ye may be also.
And wither I go, ye know, and the way ye know."
John 14:1-4 (I quoted, so may not be word for word)

Thank You Father for those beautiful words!

If you need someone to comfort you
Our Heavenly Father
is the one you want to turn too!
For He Cares For You!

Life!

"Life" !
What is Life?
Life is each day that God gives us to live,
And to make the choices we have to make.
Life is so short.
Or is it long?
We don't know,
When our time is up on this earth.
Today I was thinking about life,
How we take it for granted so much.
How often do we think about,
Am I going to wake up in the morning.
Or am I going to make it to work or
Where ever we are traveling too?
Or just sitting in our easy chair or
At our table,
Do we think about dieing?
We take life for granted so much.
We make our choices,
But do we make our choices like they are our last choices?
Think about it.
I know someone that died sitting in their easy chair,
Someone else sitting at their table.
Someone who was sleeping next to their spouse.
Some of course do die on their sick bed.
Someone who died while his wife was driving him to the hospital.
We don't know what we will be doing when that time comes.
My cousin Jeff Tawney was at a family get together,
May 13th, 2007
If I understand it right,
Their family were all there,
He had a seisure, along with a heart attack
And died right there,
He was 47 years old.
We don't know when our time will come.
So as I was thinking about this,
There are so many out there that aren't ready and
I had to ask myself,
What am I doing to help people to be ready?
Life - is short,
We need to be ready.
We can be ready if we make the right choices.
Jesus was given "Life",
He was born on earth as a tiny little baby,
And He grew up to be a man.
I mean a man,
He was a gentleman.
But you know what?
His time was up at age 33.
He died on a cross for you and for me.
Think about it,
He shed His blood,
so that we might live forever.
How can we live forever?
We ask Jesus into our hearts,
He saves us from our sins,
and continually live for Him.
Jesus didn't stay on that cross.
He was placed in a tomb,
Where most thought Him to be dead forever,
But guess what?
He arose,
And is up in heaven preparing a place,
For each one that asks Him into their hearts.
That is how you will live eternally.
John 3:16 says:
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son. That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life".
Life -
That is what Jesus gives to each of us when we say:
"Jesus will you come into my heart today"?
Live with me, talk with me, walk with me.
Do the things with me as each day goes by,
until it is my turn to go".
Thank you, Jesus,
for giving me the choice to serve you,
so that I may live with you eternally.
Will you live Eternally?

Becky Takes Mom and Dad Out!

Every year Becky's Work,
Meadowlark Retirement Home,
in Sparta gives tickets out to their Employees for the
Whitecaps Game as a Family Night.
They have a set area that they set,
and not only do you get to see the game free,
we got to eat hamburgs, hotdogs and chips, and cookies, and drinks all you could eat.
It is a lot of fun being able to get out
and just have a good time.
It means a lot to me,
when we are able to do things together with our children.
And to watch your "Home Team Win",
that is Great too!
Whitecaps - 4
Cedar Rapids Kernals - 2
And we even got a few drops of rain too.
But for the most part
it was sunny and 75 degrees.
I of course took some pictures with my new camera too!

We want to say a "BIG" Thank You
Becky,
We really had a Great Evening.
We Really Enjoyed it!

The Cedar Springs Marching Band
Performed tonight for the
Whitecaps Game.

We also sang the "National Anthem"
It is so great to be free to sing it.

This is the Whitecaps Dugout!

One of the Whitecaps Outfielders,

#31,
Michael Bertram
Lexington, Kentucky

We sat outside in the outfield section.
There could have been some home
runs hit right at our seats,
or I should say picnic table where
we ate.

Thanks again Becky!

Had to try my new camera out!

I was asked to make a flower arrangement for the church,
I enjoy making flower arrangements.
For many years, earlier years, I did weddings too.
I thank the Lord that he has given me the talent to be able to do so.
He Blesses me in so many ways. I sometimes think I don't thank Him
enough.
I did put some flowers in flower boxes on each side of the platform too,
you can see one peeking on the top left of the picture.

Ethan Loses His First Tooth!

Just thought I would share with you. While I was in Florida this past winter, Ethan our oldest grandson, kept telling about his friends losing their teeth. I told him one day he would be too. He would come to me once in awhile and say grandma, I think my tooth is loose. I would check it and it wasn't. So the other night just a couple of nights ago, he was sent to bed for the evening after I had just seen him on the webcam playing. A little while later Ruth called and asked me to get back on the computer on the webcam she wanted to show me something. This is what she wanted to show me.

Surfs Up!

Hello, I just wanted to take the time to share with you again.
When Sarah and Becky went to Florida. I mentioned that Ruth had taken them to Universal Studios. They did enjoy it!

A couple of pictures that were taken made me think of a DVD that the boys have,
called "The Backyardigans" one of their programs is a story about surfing.
So of course right away when I seen the boys picture surfing I had to share this. Don't they look natural?

Any way I thought you might enjoy these pictures.
Have a Great Day!
